We are thrilled to announce this year’s musical entertainment for Prairie Experience VII: Turquoise Traditions is Bobby Flores & The Yellow Rose Band. This band is the premier classic country and western swing band in Texas! Featuring 3 fiddles, lots of steel guitar, and Grammy award-winning Bobby Flores’ smooth country vocals, they’ll keep everyone dancing to their favorite tunes.

A Prairie Experience is a special event held by the Texas Botanical Gardens and Native American Interpretive Center each year to raise funds for the Legacy Plaza campaign.

The event is held in at Legacy Plaza in Texas Botanical Gardens, an authentic reproduction of Mills County as it existed 3,000 years ago.

The 2016 Prairie Experience will feature:

  • Launch of our new Pavilion
  • An outdoor reception and seated dinner (wine and set-ups available)
  • Special guests including Emil Her Many Horses from the National Museum of the American Indian, Rita Coosewoon and other members of the Comanche Nation, Teodisio and JoAnn Herrera of the Tlaxcalteca & Affiliated Tribes of Texas.
  • Archaeology presentation in the Gardens
  • The opportunity to visit with special guests, project team members and other event attendees
  • Live auction, silent auction and other new fundraising activities
