Welcome to Legacy Plaza, a cultural and educational facility now under development in the heart of Texas that will honor and celebrate early Native-American history and life and highlight their dependence on the region's native plants and waterways.

Legacy Plaza, consisting of a museum, botanical gardens, town green, welcome center, and public library on one downtown city block, is a collaboration between the nonprofit Texas Botanical Gardens and Native American Interpretive Center and the City of Goldthwaite.

Design and construction of the town green and welcome center, funded with a grant from the Texas Department of Transportation in 2010, is underway. A fundraising campaign is in progress to develop the botanical gardens and museum in two phases. The botanical gardens are expected to open in 2013 and museum construction is slated for completion in 2015. The Legacy Plaza Museum Annex, housed in a Sears Craftsman Kit House located three blocks away from Legacy Plaza is currently open to the public.
